Minister Leon Schreiber opens new Home Affairs office at Cape Town Civic Centre, 24 Aug

The Minister of Home Affairs, Dr Leon Schreiber, together with the Executive Mayor of Cape Town, Geordin Hill-Lewis, will on Monday, 24 August 2026, officially open a new Home Affairs office at the Cape Town Civic Centre.

The new office advances the vision of Home Affairs @ home by bringing services closer to where people already live, work and travel. Conveniently located within the Civic Centre, residents will be able to access Home Affairs alongside existing City services, at a central location well connected to safe public transport options.

The opening marks another step towards making Home Affairs services more accessible and convenient by bringing them closer to the places people already visit in their daily lives.

Minister Schreiber and Mayor Hill-Lewis will deliver remarks before officially opening the office, followed by a walkabout and media engagement.
