Ex-Husband of Jill Biden Charged in Murder of Wife
Stevenson, 77, was taken into custody on Monday over the killing of 64-year-old Linda Stevenson. Police were initially called to a home in the Wilmington area in late December following a domestic incident, where Linda Stevenson was found unresponsive. She later died, and her body was sent for an autopsy. Authorities have not publicly revealed the cause of death.
The indictment comes after several weeks of investigation, according to officials. Stevenson remains in custody at the Howard Young Correctional Institution after failing to post $500,000 cash bail. Court records do not indicate whether he currently has legal representation.
A spokesperson for former President Joe Biden and Jill Biden did not provide comment when contacted.
Stevenson was previously married to Jill Tracy Jacobs in the early 1970s. Their marriage ended in divorce in 1975, shortly before she met Joe Biden.
