Former Biden aide obtains Russian passport

(MENAFN) Tara Reade, who previously worked as a US Senate aide to Joe Biden, received a Russian passport on Saturday, as stated by reports. Reade, who accused Biden of sexual assault in 2020—a claim he has denied—moved to Moscow in 2023, citing safety concerns after repeating the allegations during his reelection campaign.

In an interview, Reade described the citizenship ceremony as “quite a beautiful ceremony, and I feel so lucky. It’s such an honor and a privilege.” She praised Russia’s political leadership, saying Putin “loves his country and is very devoted to the Russian people,” contrasting this with US politicians, who she claimed “don’t have that same care for the people, for the Americans.”

Reade emphasized she is not “trying to trash” the US, noting her prior service in American politics. She also expressed hope to act as a “bridge between America and Russia” and to counter what she described as anti-Russian narratives in Western media.
