Cevdet Yilmaz to Represent Erdogan in Ukraine Talks

(MENAFN) Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz is set to participate in a virtual assembly of the "coalition of the willing" on Tuesday, stepping in on behalf of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, according to insiders.

This online conference will be overseen by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and will center around the outcomes of Monday’s high-level consultations held at the White House regarding the Ukraine conflict.

The discussions brought together US President Donald Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, and prominent European heads of state.

The peacekeeping initiative, spearheaded by the United Kingdom and France, proposes the deployment of multinational forces from various European and NATO member states to stabilize Ukraine in the post-war period.

On Monday, Trump announced that the gathering tackled the subject of long-term security assurances for Ukraine.

He also revealed that his administration had started planning a direct encounter between presidents Vladimir Putin and Zelenskyy, with the intention of arranging a subsequent three-way summit involving himself.

This diplomatic effort follows a prior summit between Trump and Putin, held in the U.S. state of Alaska, which aimed to chart a course toward ending the war in Ukraine.
