Erdogan, Trump Hold Talks on Regional Conflicts, Bilateral Ties

(MENAFN) At the NATO Summit in The Hague on Tuesday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a high-level meeting with US President Donald Trump, focusing on pressing regional conflicts, global challenges, and deepening bilateral relations.

Erdogan praised an Israel-Iran ceasefire "achieved through US President Trump's efforts" and stressed the need for sustainable peace, a resolution to the Gaza crisis, and ongoing dialogue regarding the situation in Ukraine, according to a statement from Türkiye's Communications Directorate.

In their discussions, Erdogan emphasized the significant opportunities for US-Turkey collaboration, especially in sectors like energy, investment, and defense. He pointed out that enhancing these partnerships could be key to reaching a $100 billion trade milestone.

Both leaders also reaffirmed their commitment to reinforcing NATO’s deterrence capabilities, recognizing their roles as pivotal allies within the Alliance.
